You Are Amazing God

"When I view and consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained and established, what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of earthborn man that You care for him?" ~ Psalm 8:3,4, Amplified Study Bible

It took my breath away.

The illuminated sphere with its cavernous shadows and mystical halo rose above the ridge. The "snow" moon was huge! Bigger than any I have ever seen. A wisp of a cloud, leftover from a dreary day, ribboned its way through the moonlit night, brushing up against this lamp in our darkness.

Like I said, it took my breath away.
My thoughts turned to the Lord.

How can we fathom the glory and splendor of our God? Elohim, the Creator of the Universe, shaped this astonishing sky-jewelry out of virtually nothing. It's the work of His hands, we casually say, as if fashioning the moon and the stars and placing them in a dark and enormous sky was like running to WalMart to get some Kleenex.

Amazing, isn't it?
Not only is it amazing that our God is a god that could do such a thing. It is amazing that we are so nonchalant in our recognition of such power.

I know.
Me, too.

Chris Tomlin says it best, "Indescribable! Uncontainable! You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name. All powerful! Untameable! Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim: You are amazing God."

And the best part?

"You see the depths of my heart and you love me the same. You are amazing God."

Yep. That pretty much sums it up.

"I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High" (Psalm 9:1)

If you received Morning Glory via email, please go to the Morning Glory page to worship along with Chris Tomlin as he sings, "Indescribable". I think you might sing this song with more fervor than before. I know I did.
