Scriptures of Encouragement ~ Closer Than Our Breath

"Daddy?" she asked, trembling.

"I'm here," he answered. "Take my hand."

The child grasped her father's hand as they hurried down the darkened path. Her tiny fingers intertwined his, pressing into the strength of her Daddy's hand, leaving her fear behind. Peace settled on the child's heart. Confidence and comfort replaced the dread.

The child merely spoke her daddy's name. Immediately she felt the strength of his hand taking hers.

We speak the Name of Jesus and, immediately, He responds with His Presence, holding our hand, giving us courage, and leading us out of the fear.

"And He [God] said, 'My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.'" ~ Exodus 33:14

SELAH. Pause and calmly think about it.

Father God, You are closer than the air we breathe. Open the eyes of our hearts to understand and walk in this Truth. At the mention of Your Name hell begins to tremble, angels are dispersed, and the heavens are opened to reveal Your face. O Lord! Help us to get this in our knower! YOU, the Lord our God, are with us. Thank You Lord. Bless Your Holy Name!!

  1. Nan, I love the picture you painted with your words. What a blessing to be able to take our Father's hand and call Him daddy..our Abba Father...may He bless you real good today. Thanks for this reminder!

  2. Glenda, you are so precious. Thank you so much. It always amazes me that, even though our God is Almighty God, we are able to approach Him as Daddy God because of Jesus. That blesses my heart.

  3. Nan, once again, you've penitrated my heart with your words. God certainly knows how to get my attention through you, doesn't he? As you know, I'm learning to take His hand more and more...no matter what the issue in life may be. I have several things that can make me afrai and frustrated, falling into the trap of despair. But if I'll only just call on His name...His strong and mighty name...no calamity will come to me. And when it does, He's there until it passes! Jesus...what a mighty name! Love you, sweet friend!
