Grapevines twirled and curled, draping the birdhouse in protective camouflage. A sparrow darted in and out of the circular opening, broken twigs dangling from her beak.
Carefully she selected each piece, recognizing its role in her new dwelling place. I loved her persistence. Her determination. Her sense of purpose.
And I loved how the sparrow understood that her Heavenly Father would help her weave those broken twigs together to make a place of comfort for her family.
Do I understand like the sparrow Lord? Completely? Do I understand that it is You who makes me lie down in peace because You are with me? Do I really understand that it is You who lines my path with glimmering gold, purified in the Refiner's Fire? And that it is You who uses all the broken places in my life to weave a tapestry where I may lie down in Your Presence, beneath the shadow of Your wing?
Do I really understand this deep in my knower?
I want to.
Please help me Lord.
And please help my friends too.
"How lovely is Your tabernacle, O Lord of Hosts!
My soul longs, yes, even faints
for the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Even the sparrow has found a home,
Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may lay her young - even Your altars,
O Lord of hosts, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in Your house.
They will still be praising You. Selah."
~ Psalm 84:1-4

Time is moving quickly towards the release of my
first book, The Perils of a Pastor's Wife. It's scheduled for June. As soon as I get the exact date I'll let you know. In the meantime, I cherish your prayers. Many of my sisters who fight on the front-lines of battle are hurting and need to be strengthened. The Perils of a Pastor's Wife will do just that. Through this book, the pastor's wife in your life will realize that she is not alone - that somewhere, somehow, someone knows what she is going through.
