Where is God? Sunday Glimpses

by Nan Jones   @NanJonesAuthor

Blessed be the Name of the Lord! You are my Rock, my Strong Tower, my Safe Place in the storm. Thank You Lord for Your faithfulness, for Your steadfast love.

That's it, isn't it Lord? Your love is steadfast, never changing. I can depend upon Your tender and compassionate love that wants me whole again, that wants me to be filled with laughter again. I want that too, Lord and I know with You all things are possible. I yield to Your Holy Spirit as You shape me and mold me in the Refiner's Fire. Burn away the dross - the impurities, those things that are not pleasing to You. I want to be holy and acceptable to You O God, for You are my King. I love You Lord.

Father, hold my friends close. Allow them to experience the depth of Your love. Open the eyes of their understanding that nothing - no thing - can separate them from Your love, for it is beyond comprehension. Your love is everlasting.

Help them understand that when we feel as though You have abandoned us, that is when You are the closest because You are drawn to our pain. Help each of us remember in those times when we are too weak and overwhelmed to pray, we only need to speak the Name of Jesus and You are there in all Your fullness. You are there to take away the hurt and the pain. You are there to soothe the restless heart, to fill Your child with hope and peace. Thank You Lord.

May we never take You for granted and put You in a lovely box on the shelf. You are too magnificent to contain. You are the Great God, Lord of heaven and earth and we belong to You! We love You Lord and we praise You. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.

  1. Yes Lord and amen. Thank You that You hold us and love us even when we are not faithful to You. Thank You that we are never alone.

  2. What an encouragement as I step into the busiest time of the year! I struggle with keeping up and occasionally is it my time with God that goes by the wayside. Yet He is the one who enables me to do everything. Without Him I am helpless to accomplish it. I needed this!

    1. I think women all across America become overwhelmed as we head into fall and the holiday season, but I am always amazed at how the Lord redeems the time when we give Him the first fruits of our day. I'm so thankful it encouraged you.
