Scriptures of Encouragement ~ How Can This Be?

SON OF GOD
by Michael W. Smith

Son of God, pure as light.
Lord on high is here tonight,
Stepping through this sacred sky.
Suddenly our eyes behold,
Heavens perfect plan unfold.
Son of God.

Son of God, love divine.
Timeless One, steps in to die.
Who could dream of such a thing?
With us now, the King of kings.

Men and angels sing!
Singing Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
We're singing Gloria Hallelujah!
We're singing Gloria Hallelujah!

Emmanuel.
Our God is with us.

"Then Mary said to the angel, 'How can this be, since I do not know a man?' And the angel answered and said to her, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also that holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.'" ~ Luke 1:34, 35

Father God, What an amazing God You are! We love You, Lord. Thank You for Your gift of Jesus - YOUR Word made flesh so that we might know and understand who You are. Thank You for pursuing us with Your love. Awaken our hearts to love You, Lord. Open our eyes to see You in our midst. Blessed be the Name of the Lord

  1. Thank you, Nan! I love that in that specific scripture, the angel doesn't tell Mary that the Holy Spirit has already come over her and she has no choice. But instead, he says "The Holy Spirit WILL come over you..." Then he waited for her reply:

"I am the Lord's servant. May it be to me as you have said." Oh, if only that would automatically be my response!

Merry Christmas, dear friend. I pray God's richest blessings as we celebrate the Gift and the Giver...
