There's a Whole Lot of Shaking Going On!

"Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; so He guides them to their desired haven."
(Psalm 107:28-30)

Have you noticed there's a whole lot of shaking going on? God is not only saying to His people, "Choose this day whom you will serve," but the world is forcing us to count the cost of our discipleship: are we going to stand for the Gospel of Jesus Christ or are we going to cower in the shadows as persecution and ridicule begin to flourish in this, our Christian nation?

Lots of questions.
Lots of observations.
And lots of shaking for the Body of Christ.

I know so many Believers who are on the front lines of battle. Maybe its your marriage, maybe job loss or devastating disease. Perhaps you have a wayward child or depression and anxiety threatens to suffocate you. I know several people who have said, "Yes, Lord, I will stand for righteousness!" only to suffer the consequences.

There's a whole lot of shaking going on!

What does the above Scripture say? Let's read it again.

"Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, so that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they (the waves) are quiet; so He guides them to their desired haven.
"

Call out to your Deliverer. He will bring you out of your distresses and calm your storm.

Did you notice what happened next? "He guides them to their desired haven."

Not just any haven...their DESIRED haven.

Haven. A place of rest and refuge.

I am looking forward to that!!

Lord, You are so faithful!! Thank You. I am so thankful that nothing is too difficult for You - not even the hurricanes that blow us every which way but to our knees. Forgive us when we forget that You are our deliverer. When we live within Your love, we are safe from anything life throws at us. What a comforting thought to know that not only will You deliver us, but You will guide us until we reach that peaceful shore. You are wonderful, Lord. I love You!
