Can You See Fireworks?

"And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good?

"He is your praise, and He is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things which your eyes have seen."
(Deuteronomy 10:12,13,21)

What does the Lord require of you?
Verses 12 and 13 speak of five actions: to fear (reverence), to walk, to love, to serve, and to keep.

This is going to sound crazy, but I'm trying to find the words to help you experience what I did when I read these verses. Okay, ready?

Think on these five requirements: reverence, walk, love, serve and keep. Really think - ponder them. Now ask the Lord to give you a mental image of these actions: reverence...walk...love...serve...keep. Can you see yourself carrying out these requirements - not alone, but hand in hand with your Lord, in His presence?

Your whole being is involved, isn't it? Every part of you. You are loving Him with all of your heart and mind and soul and strength when you carry out these five requirements.

Can you feel God's pleasure as you willingly acknowledge Him as Lord? He is honored and glorified by your actions. Now the really good part...

You're walking hand in hand, right? Look up into the star-filled sky. Can you see fireworks? Yes, I said fireworks. Why? Because...HE IS YOUR PRAISE!!!! Isn't that a glorious thought? "He is your praise and He is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things which your eyes have seen." He becomes your praise - your celebration - when you reverence Him, walk with Him, love Him, serve Him and keep His Word!

I LOVE that verse...the Lord is my praise.

Moses spoke these words to the children of God as he reminded them of their deliverance from Egypt. Everything wasn't hunky-dory in the wilderness, yet the Israelites could not deny what God had done for them - He had set them free from the chains of bondage and had claimed them as His own.

That is what God has done for us through His Son, Jesus.
He brought us up out of the "land of Egypt" (so to speak) and set us free from the chains of bondage. He brought us before the throne of grace where our Heavenly Father said, "I will be your God, and you will be My people."

Yes, He is our praise and He is our God who has done great and awesome things!

Bless the Holy Name of the Lord!

Father, I love this Word from You! Thank You, Lord. Thank You for helping us experience the celebration of Who You are! You are awesome, Lord and worthy of our praise. Take our hand and lead us on. We are Yours, Lord.
