He Heals the Brokenhearted

"The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (sorrows). He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite."
(Psalm 147:2-5)

Are you broken today? Is your spirit downcast within you? Do you feel like an outcast?

In my mind's eye I can see a mask - that smiley, happy face, got-it-all-together mask. But underneath, something is wrong. You are feeling overwhelmed, desperate. Pain threatens to destroy you. But being transparent with your family and friends is out of the question.

Beloved, Your Heavenly Father sees. And He knows.

He sees your tears.
He feels your anguish.
And He promises to heal your broken heart.

"Great is the Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite."

What does that mean? Infinite means "unsearchable, unable to be fully discovered". It means "beyond our comprehension". THAT is how great His understanding for us is.

Can you imagine that? When no one else understands you, your Heavenly Father does.

And His understanding and His power to heal is infinite.

Thank You, Lord. Thank You for understanding our pain and for desiring to heal our brokenness. If we could only fathom how deep is Your love for us. If we could only learn to run to You in our pain. If we could only have the courage to take off our masks and be transparent. Build up Jerusalem, Lord. Build up the Body of Christ to be mature and focused on You. Bind us together so that transparency becomes natural and not shameful. Heal our wounds, Father. You are great and mighty in power. You, Lord, are worthy of our praise.
