It is God Who is At Work in Us

"For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."
(Philippians 2:13)

If only we could grasp this truth! It is GOD who works in us to fulfill His purposes, to bring Him pleasure. It is GOD who puts all the pieces of our lives together. We know this in our heads, but He wants us to know it in our hearts.

The Greek Word for 'works' is energeo (en-erg-eh-oh). It means "the active operation or working of power in order to achieve effectual results." Effectual results? Hmmmmm.....

Try your best to imagine the big picture - not only of YOUR life, but - THE BIG PICTURE!! God, in His wisdom, has a plan - an objective, if you will. He IS the Sovereign Ruler of the universe, after all. Nothing happens by chance - it is all by His great design. His plan is all about transforming lives through the power of His presence - for His glory - for His pleasure.

And His plan counts for eternity. His objectives involve love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness. self-control, gentleness, faithfulness - not only for you, but for those whose lives you, His child, impact.

Do you feel unsure of your future? Do you ever wonder if your own life is counting for eternity?

If you have surrendered your life to your loving Savior, you can be sure that He holds you in the palm of His hand and He WILL complete His purposes in you.

God + His power + you + me = effectual results
effectual results + you + me = transformed lives which makes Him smile

Lord, thank You for not letting us live stagnant lives. The power of Your Presence in us transforms us and the lives of those whose paths we cross. Work in us to fulfill your purposes. Mold us and shape us for Your pleasure, that You might be glorified through us.
