The Perfect Peace of God

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You."
(Isaiah 26:3)

Easier said than done, isn't it? These word are nice. Simple. Familiar.

But isn't it hard to keep our minds stayed on the Lord when it feels like our world is falling apart? Yes, it is!!

The phrase, 'keep our minds', refers to our 'creative imagination'. We can get pretty creative in our imaginations when we begin to worry about something, can't we? The 'what ifs' are enough to drive you crazy! But this scripture teaches us that when our thoughts, our plans, our dreams are founded on the eternal Lord, we will enjoy peace.

It's the same as exercising 'attentive hearing' and then submitting our thoughts to Christ.

When I focus on Jesus, when I gaze into those lovely eyes, my mind settles down and I find peace.

Shalom.

Peace. Sweet Lord, we all need to know Your peace. Forgive us when we entertain creative imaginations instead of keeping our thoughts fully on You. Be Lord of our minds, our thoughts. How beautiful to realize that peace is ours, if only we will focus on You. Praise you, Father.
