The Greatness of God

"He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm and carry them in His bosom, and gently lead those who are with young. Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, measured heaven with a span (the width of His hand) and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure? Weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?...To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him?...Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, who stretched out the heavens like a curtain...'To whom then, will you liken Me, or to whom shall I be equal?' says the Holy One."
(Isaiah 40:11,12,18,21,25)

WOW!! Are you facing an insurmountable problem today? May these words comfort you, encourage you and fill you with determination to press on until you have victory!

The beginning of this passage clearly denotes the tenderness and concern of our Lord: He feeds us, He carries us, He leads us on this journey. But look at the scriptures that follow. Use your imagination and picture the greatness of God - His vastness. He cupped His hand and held the seas - He measured the heavens by the width of His hand. Can you imagine?!

Is there anything too difficult for this awesome God of ours? No. He is mighty in power and glorious in majesty.

And our God is WILLING and ABLE because of His great love.

Praise Your Name, Lord God! If only we could begin to fathom Your greatness! If only we could begin to understand Your love and the depth of Your being. Thank You for making a way for us to know You. Thank You for loving us in spite of ourselves. And thank you for being greater than any problem we ever face. You, Lord, are magnificent and we love You. We worship You, Father. We bless Your Holy Name.
