On Eagles' Wings

"You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I sustained you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself."
(Exodus 19:4,5)

What a beautiful image: "I sustained you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself." When an eagle encounters a storm, he flies up above the clouds, the wind, the rain. There he stretches out his massive wings and soars. He is unaffected by the storm. He glides and drinks in the peace of the heavens, the majesty of the sunrise.

All the while, the storm rages beneath him.

Not only did the Lord tell His children that He had sustained them above the storm, He also said, "I brought you to Myself." I can see my Heavenly Father - my Daddy God - with arms outstretched welcoming me into His loving arms, safe from the storm.

There is such comfort in these words. Never forget that the Almighty God, so majestic in Holiness, is also our Heavenly Father Who loves His children with an everlasting love. Run to Him and be safe.

Father God, it seems the storms rage all around us. I pray that You will give us the wings of eagles to rise up above the difficulties. Bring us to Yourself. Wrap us in Your arms of love - Your POWERFUL arms of love - where peace abounds and nothing is impossible for You. You are so precious, Father. We love you.
